Episode 01 April Progress Update
Learn about the game's current progress for April
If you're checking my dev blog out for the first time, this blog is about my journey while creating the The Girl Who Knew Time, a game I wrote and currently developing! You can check it out here in the Google Play Store.
✨👋🏻Hey everyone!
So sorry I haven't been updating on social media, but know I'm focusing 100% of time on developing the first episode. Consider following my TikTok for more frequent updates: 🥰 tiktok.com/@trinitymoonstudios
If you haven't already, I would highly advise reading the game progress here as I continuously update this article with progress percentage so you can follow along!
For the last 2 months, I've been working on the biggest chunk of work, creating and directing the actual scenes for the game. This is the general process:
- Find all the assets for each scene.
- Add them in the correct place.
- Create shots for each scene.
- Improve with effects, sounds and music.
- Create tools around creative situations that didn't exist before.
Every step takes time.
If you're following along, you know that Episode 1 will be a merge of Episode 1-3.
I did this so there is more content in each episode, which is great for you but more work for me in the short amount of time. So technically, if I was releasing only Episode 1, it would already be complete in February, but because I'm adding more Episodes and all in-game features with this release, it takes more time.
I anticipate after Episode 1 release, Episode 2 will take me at most 2 weeks(shortest time) to 2 months(longest time) to release the next episode since all features + tools will already be created with Episode 1 release. This will make the creation process of future episodes much faster.
There are 5 scenes within Episode 1.
3/5 of the scenes are complete, the 4th scene will be complete today and I'll be working on the last scene tomorrow. I anticipate the last scene will take between a few days to a week to complete.
After all the scenes are complete I'll be working on sound and music. I am aiming for completing this in 1-2 weeks.
Lastly, the last 2 weeks will be spent on creating the features. I might leave some features out to release the game last week of April/first week of May, and then work on those features in the 2 weeks after release. Let's see how progress moves along.
I'll be updating again at the end of April/beginning of May.
Thanks so much for your patience and support!
