If you're checking my dev blog out for the first time, this blog is about my journey while creating the The Girl Who Knew Time, a game I wrote and currently developing! You can check it out here in the Google Play Store.

βœ¨πŸ‘‹πŸ»Hey everyone!

Here's another quick update for you!

If you haven't already, I would highly advise reading the game progress here as I continuously update this article with progress percentage so you can follow along!

OK! So we are almost there!

I really tried to complete all 7 things I mentioned in last month's update, but I ended up also adding a few more things that were not mentioned here. I will add everything that I actually worked on in Episode 01 in another article once the game is officially released.

I ended up spending more time on things like adding depth and blur effects etc. but let's see if they don't tank performance on mobile. Worst case scenario, if they do, I'll just be adding these for the PC/Mac launch(after all episodes are complete on Android and released on iPhones) instead of on mobile phones.

Here's what's left to do this month:

  1. Sound + Music (estimate will take 1-3 weeks. Really depends if I'm lucky to find the right sounds and music + I also need to time edit each sound, timing, etc.)
  2. Memory Check (will be done while also testing the game. Find how much memory a user needs on their phone to play an episode. I've never done this before but looking more into it. Might take 1-3 days.)
  3. Test the Game (make sure all features + choice paths work, graphics are decent on mobile)(This might take be 3 days - 2 weeks, it really depends on if everything works on mobile the same as it does in Unity).
  4. Last check for Time Warp feature(the feature is 95% complete except this part. Estimate this part will take me 1 day).

Usually, sound/music itself takes 2-3 weeks but I will try my best to do it in 1 week and so the week after focus on testing the game, fixing any bugs etc. So I am aiming to release Episode 01 in 2 weeks, but it could be a max of 3-4 weeks if the bugs are more complex than I anticipate and if sound/music takes longer...And that's it! I am so happy to announce that finally 100% guarantee it will finally be released this month.

As I mentioned in the last few updates the next episodes will take less time to create since all the main features are done and will be released with Episode 01. I estimate Episode 2+ will be complete in the quickest 3 weeks, longest 2 months.

And some more good news...

I know I haven't been updating much, especially on the visuals part of the game.

Since I have fewer features to work on, I will dedicate more time to updating you guys with the game's progress on Twitter and on TikTok + sharing lots of fun visuals. I will start doing it more after Episode 01's release.

I'm excited to finally bring Episode 01 to your mobile devices this month! Yaaay!!
